This picnic is a special edition where we say “see you later” to Mayan, the founder of MDE Community.

A message from Mayan:

Hello, everyone!

It aches my heart to leave this beautiful city but like everyone else, I will be back! My little one and I will be exploring Asia for a few months. And to everyone asking:

What will happen to MDE Community?

It will live on. We have always had dedicated and loyal volunteers and they will continue the movement here. And we are actually expanding MDE Community globally! What used to represent only Medellín is now a representation for multiple cities.

But t what I really want to say to everyone for now is this… THANK YOU.

Thank you for trusting me. Thank you for building this WITH me. Thank you for the energy you all have put in to build a movement so great.

To everyone who has supported me especially during the worst of times, a thousand hugs to you.

We have connected over 10,000 people and hosted over 1,000 events and meetups. It’s crazy to think how far we have come but this is thanks to YOU.

We’ve built something beautiful here, and this is only the beginning. Medellín will always be the heart of MDE, but the world is calling, and we’re answering. 🌎

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for every smile, every conversation, and every moment that made this community what it is today.

This isn’t goodbye, it’s “see you somewhere else.” Wherever you are, wherever we go, know that this community will always be here, growing, connecting, and creating moments that matter.

Stay close… big things are coming, and I want you with us every step of the way 🫶🏽✨
